Over 1000 Euro for the Kolping Education Center in Bayreuth

DESKO donates proceeds from basketball challenge

The motto of a sportive charity event at DESKO in Bayreuth was "Shooting basketballs for a good cause". At the open day for police and authorities, the guests not only benefited from the professional exchange, but also proved their accuracy in shooting basketballs. With support from professional basketball, more than 200 hits were scored in a short time.

Many hits for a good cause

Under the guidance of national basketball player and team captain at medi Bayreuth, Bastian Doreth, the visitors faced a challenge at the end of the Police Day: The aim was to score as many hoops as possible within a short time. Each hit was rewarded by DESKO with five euros. Thus by the large sporty employment of the participants the stately sum of 1060 euro came together. With this amount DESKO wants to support the work of the Kolping Education Center for Ukrainian refugees in Bayreuth.

"We are happy that we can support the integration and education work of the Kolping Education Center with the sum raised. We are impressed by the tireless commitment to refugees in need," said Alexander Zahn, Managing Director of DESKO.
"Our team is happy to contribute to the success of such campaigns with equipment and manpower," adds Johannes Feuerpfeil, Managing Director of medi bayreuth

Donation for language support of Ukrainian refugees

The Kolping Education Center is particularly committed to the integration of Ukrainian refugees, who also need protection and support here in Bayreuth. Central for a successful integration is here the topic language. "The donation therefore directly benefits the language support and individual counseling of Ukrainian refugees," emphasized the director of the education center, Viola Rauser. The Kolping Education Center offers special language courses in this context.
