DESKO is among the winners of "Bayreuth Innovativ 2022"
ID scanner with forensic image resolution belongs to the best innovations made in Bayreuth
The Bayreuth high-tech company DESKO GmbH is one of the seven winners of the competition "Bayreuth Innovativ 2022" and thus part of a cross-media marketing campaign for the location Bayreuth. A total of 33 participants from the city and district of Bayreuth applied with forward-looking products, business models, processes and services. With the campaign the top new developments of the region in and around Bayreuth are to be presented and the attention is to be directed to the topic innovation in the economic region.
The founder of DESKO is Werner Zahn, who runs the business together with his son Alexander. He is pleased that his company is among the winners of the competition:
"DESKO has always been on the move globally. Our keyboards and scanners are successfully used in airports, hotels and banks all over the world and make people's everyday work easier. Despite all our internationality, however, we are deeply rooted here in Bayreuth and the region. Our technically sophisticated solutions are developed with great commitment here at our headquarters in Bayreuth. Therefore, we are very pleased that this is also visible in the campaign of 'Bayreuth Innovativ'."
The medium-sized company DESKO applied for the competition with its innovative ID-1 GO ID scanner, which has been in series production since the middle of the year. The newly developed device reads the front and back of documents in credit card format, such as ID cards or driver's licenses, in just one operation. In addition, the scanner sets new standards in terms of resolution: at 1300 dpi, the device produces images with a forensic resolution otherwise only found in laboratory environments. This means that immediate conclusions can be drawn about the various printing processes used to make an ID document forgery-proof. The ID-1 GO is the world's first tabletop device to achieve such a feat.
DESKO CEO Alexander Zahn affirms that this product innovation is groundbreaking for the industry:
"We are proud to be part of the 'Bayreuth Innovativ' campaign. We have put a lot of heart and soul and innovative spirit into the development of our ID-1 GO ID scanner and it has paid off: With the ID-1 GO we bring forensic laboratory quality directly to the customer's desk. This takes document verification to a new level of security."
The development of advanced and technically mature solutions that provide more security by identifying forged documents has been the goal of the Bayreuth-based company DESKO for more than 30 years. Customers all over the world trust in the know-how of the medium-sized company: DESKO Holding has subsidiaries in the USA and in Singapore. The company achieves a large part of its turnover with market novelties and the constant further development of existing products. Even in times of crisis, such as during the Corona pandemic, DESKO invests in the development of innovations in order to launch new products, such as the ID-1 GO.
